Art that moves, provokes, and inspires
A contemporary gallery featuring rotating exhibitions, artist residencies, and community workshops.
Gallery hours and location
The Canvas Collective is open Wednesday through Sunday, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with extended hours until 9:00 PM on First Fridays. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
We are located in the Arts District with street parking and bike racks at the entrance. Guided tours are available on Saturdays at 1:00 PM — no reservation required.
Visitor questions
Yes, always. We are funded through a combination of grants, donations, and art sales commissions. We believe financial barriers should never prevent someone from experiencing art.
Many pieces in our exhibitions are available for purchase. Prices are listed on the wall labels or available from our gallery team. We also offer payment plans for select works.
Applications open each January for the following year. We accept artists working in any medium. Visit our residency page for eligibility requirements and submission guidelines.
We review artist portfolios on a rolling basis. Submit your work through our online portal and our curatorial team will respond within 6 to 8 weeks.
What artists and visitors say
My residency at The Canvas Collective was transformative. The mentorship and studio space gave me room to take real creative risks.
This is what a gallery should be — welcoming, thought-provoking, and genuinely free. I bring friends here every month.
The artist talk series is the most enriching cultural program in the city. I have learned so much about contemporary practice.
A platform for bold voices
The Canvas Collective was founded in 2019 with a mission to bridge the gap between emerging artists and the contemporary art market. We focus on underrepresented voices and work that challenges conventions.
Our 5,000-square-foot space includes two exhibition halls, a project room for experimental work, and a studio wing for artists in residence. Admission is always free.
